Charity is a form of love for others which helps them attain perfection by means of helping or relieving their sufferings. It is an act of self-control
On this day we remember those who have been affected by natural calamities like floods, earthquakes, cyclones etc., and also those who are suffering from human induced disasters such as hunger, poverty, diseases, war, and political oppression.
We pray that God blesses us all with peace and prosperity and all our needs be met. May we live together in harmony, respect each other’s beliefs, culture, customs and traditions.

On International Day of Charity, what should I do?
Here are some ideas:

- Go shopping and buy groceries for a family in need
- Visit a local nursing home or hospital
- Send flowers to someone who is sick
