Donate now to help these children

My name is Ilona P. I am in 9th grade at orphanage #5 in Odessa. I am 14 years old. I am an orphan. I have a younger brother Ruslan who is 11 years old. He is with me in the orphanage.

We used to live with only our mom because our dad left us. After he left, life became much more difficult but our mom tried to do everything possible so that we could have a good situation in life.

A few years later our mom got sick with a very difficult oncological illness: cancer in her left lung. Because of that my brother and I were sent to the shelter and then to the orphanage.

I understand that I have no one to go to for help so I decided to try really hard in my studies with the goal of entering the cooking trade school to become a confectioner. I would like to have this be my specialty.

I know that after I finish school my life will change. It is important to have good and faithful friends and I see these kinds of friends in the program. I know some of the other kids in this organization.

A little about me: I am happy and ready to help my close friends when they need it. I love sports, I run. I dont have any unhealthy habits. I hope that my future will change for the better. We also have a grandfather but he isnt able to help. He has a very small pension that he uses for his life and he also uses a big part of it for us.

He often comes to visit us. But because of his age, he isnt allowed to keep us living at home. The orphanage became my home. . . but I think that everything will be better than I think!
