When one meeting changed two lives, and in the future, thousands of orphans' lives throughout Ukraine.
Clara Pascal, Founder
Clara Pascal, founded the Universal Aid for Children in 1995, when she went to Ukraine with a church group. On this trip, she visited an orphanage and saw the terrible conditions in which helpless and defenseless children live. She met a child, and decided to become a mother to this boy, and subsequently adopted him. This trip changed her life and the lives of thousands of children. She decided that she wanted to devote her life to providing a better life for orphans in Ukraine, giving up a career in cinema.
After she returned to her homeland, she decided to found a Universal Aid for Children unit in Ukraine. The original goal of the program was to find volunteer doctors to correct serious but treatable diseases that were neglected in children in Ukraine. Thanks to her efforts, many Western doctors came to Ukraine to donate their services and time to perform surgeries for children with various correctable deformities and help them live a fulfilling life.
After she provided assistance to specialists who helped thousands of orphans, children with disabilities, and displaced persons. Today, the organization she built to help these children serves over 2,000 children, of all ages, in 23 different orphanages. She oversaw the construction and improvement of these institutions, making sure that the place these children call home transformed from dilapidated and almost life-threatening buildings into a harmonious environment where every child could live and feel safe. The organization she founded offers food, health care, psychological counseling and education to orphans. Every year during the holidays, Clara plays Santa Claus for thousands of children.

Clara decided that she wanted to help kids with their life and future, and organized a program called " Scholarship" for teenage orphans in Ukraine. She wanted to give orphans the opportunity to pursue higher or vocational education. Because she believed that every child deserves a better life. Through this program, more than 150 children have graduated, this includes Law and Medical Universities. Many, after the end of the program, return to mentoring younger children in their orphanages, showing with their examples, how life can changed, when at least one person is not not indifferent.
Thanks to Clara and her example, she has inspired many people to volunteer their time and money for the benefit of children on the other side of the world. She organizes volunteer trips to Ukraine and encourages sponsors and volunteers to visit Ukraine and see with their own eyes what a difficult situation these orphaned children have.
