Ukrainian Orphanages by Ivano-Frankivsk Region
Orphanages are places where children who have lost their parents live. They provide care and protection for these kids until they reach adulthood. In Ukraine, orphanages are considered to be a last resort for unwanted babies.
These children are usually taken from their families because they cannot take care of them anymore. There is no government regulation on how long an infant can stay in an orphanage. The majority of these children will spend their lives in such institutions.
In Ukraine, orphanages were founded during the Soviet era. During the Soviet period, orphanages were founded all across the country. During this time, many children were sent to orphanages after being separated from their parents due to various reasons.
Some of those reasons included: abandonment, death, divorce, illness, etc. Many of these children were not even aware that they had been adopted by another family.
