Children are often left behind when families flee their homes. In some cases, these children are taken to orphanages like the one featured here.

Orphanages are often criticized because they are seen as breeding grounds for child abuse. Some believe that children should be raised by their biological families instead of being placed in orphanages.

Orphans are usually placed into orphanages because they don’t have either a biological parent or legal guardian. These institutions are supposed to provide care and protection for them. Unfortunately, however, many orphanages fail to meet these obligations.

Orphanages in Ukraine provide care for children who are abandoned or whose parents died. Children are provided with food, shelter, clothing and medical care. The majority of orphanages are non-profit organizations that receive no financial support from the Ukrainian government.

Many orphanages also have a boarding school attached to it where children can live and study. Most orphanages are located outside major cities so as not to interfere with city life. However, many orphanages are located within large cities because they often offer more services than those found in smaller towns.
